Maggie - My Red Bank Experience

This  trip has truly been a blessing. It's been an absolutely amazing experience to work with the Infant 2 teachers at Red Bank. The first day the children were very shy and would just stare at me with big smiles and giggle. Thankfully it didn't take them long to warm up and want to show me everything! Every day when the kids have free time I hear "Miss Miss! Let me read to you." or "Miss Miss look at this!" They are such happy children and extremely polite! I have been working with amazing teachers as well. They are so eager to hear about my expereiences in the US and how the kids are doing in comparison as well as what they could do to improve. I did a lesson yesterday where I read a book to the kids and then I had them draw their favorite part and write two sentences about it. It was like I had presented a golden lesson plan. It was something the kids loved that the teacher had never thought about. It's amazing to see everything we take for granted at home: access to lesson plans, resources, pencils, paper, erasers, etc. I'm sad that my experience at Red Bank is almost over, but I'm very excited to see the school in Independence!
